Assistance needed for installing under cabinet lighting

I purchased 5, 12" linking xenon lighting systems that can either be linked together or can also be direct wired. I was planning on direct wiring one of the lights to a switch and then linking the rest of the lights up. I figured this would be okay to do. My dilemma is that I can link up four of the lights but can't link the two in between my over-the-range microwave because the linking cord is too short. So, I was wondering if I could direct wire the two lights using another type of wire. I would really like to keep all lights on one switch if possible and not have to use another switch to just turn on one of the lights. Any suggestions???

Run the same sort of NM-B wire to where to other section of lights feed from, and connect with another hardwire kit.
