Replacing track lighting fixtures

So I have figured out how to remove the fixtures from my track lighting system, but I don't know what kind of fixture I can purchase to replace them? Are there standard sizes for the electrical fittings that clip in and out of the track? How would I figure out what my track size is, if there even is one?

Michael: Due to the number of manufacturers and the difference in styles, it may be best to replace the track and the heads at the same time. You may find a brand that will fit, but it will be a hit or miss situation.

thanks!

Thanks much Chandler! Seems like a much bigger project than I had wanted to take on. I just wanted to change the fixtures, but I guess it isn't that easy, huh?

you would want to start by looking in the fixture to find a manufacturer. Then, you need to find a distributor of that brand.
Now, while making sure you have the same type mount, browse through a catalog to find one you like.

Take note, some manufacturers have changed the mount styles over the years and yours may not be available anymore.
