Zing Ear on a Ceiling Fan Light Fixture

I'm trying to figure out what to do. The light kit attached to my daughter's Hunter ceiling fan came loose the other day...and everything is just dangling. There are no screws, but I did find that the clear screw piece on the "zing ear" had broken off, causing everything to drop down. Can I have an electrician just replace that part or do I need to go buy a brand new fixture?

What is a "zing" ear?
Whatever it is, it is probably repairable.

"Zing Ear" is one of the manufacturers of pull chain switches on ceiling fans, and some other styles of switches for lams and appliances.

I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.
I can't wait to throw that at one of the kids behind the supply house counter.

Thinking, it may be the light kit canopy was held up through the threads on the plastic switch. If that is the case, see if you can find the equivalent switch with brass threads to replace the original. You shouldn't need an electrician, it is only two wires, for the light kit.
