Odd colors in ceiling box…
Box in ceiling:
- one white wire hanging
- one yellow wire hanging
- one white wire that runs inside the box from end to end (this is not hanging loose, it is threaded through two holes opposite from one another on each side of the box)
The light fixture:
- one white wire
- one black wire
- one yellow/green striped wire
The yellow/green striped wire is the grounding wire since this wire is tied into a screw on the mounting bracket and on the light fixture underside.
Any ideas on how to wire this???

Connect the black wire to the yellow wire, connect the two white wires. Connect the grounds.
To verify this, use a meter or two wire tester to see which wire is the hot wire.
