2-Way or 3-way or ??

I have a ceiling fixture that burnt out. Fixed that but then discovered the dimmer switch was also not working correctly. Hold it in and everything lights up, release it and all goes off. The ceiling fixture can be turned on/off by either of two switches, one's a regular flip off and on switch, the other being the dimmer. The flip off and on switch can turn the light off and on in any position, ie light on, switch up, push down the light goes off, and vice-versa. Same for the dimmer. I want to replace the dimmer with either a regular switch or another dimmer. What do I ask for, a 2-way switch or a 3-way switch? This is a pretty simple setup I would guess.
Thanks very much.

You need a three way dimmer.

Be careful. It sounds like the dimmer got fried. You don't want to buy a new dimmer and fry it as well. You might want to install a three way toggle switch and make sure that everything works BEFORE installing a new dimmer switch.

Thanks very much. I'm going to go with a 3-way toggle. I don't much use the dimmer function anyway and as you mentioned, I'd much rather cook a cheap switch.
