Track light bulb keeps burning out
We have a track light fixture in our kitchen with 3 lights and we have one light on the fixture that keeps burning out. Everytime we replace the bulb it only lasts about a month and then burns out. The other 2 lights on the fixture have had no problems. Does anyone know what would cause something like this? All the bulbs meet the manufacturers specs.

got arcing
if the socket of the bulb is not seated TIGHT into the socket, that is the brass contacts are arcing inside , you can tell if it gets really hot, fast !!! This is a common problem with track lights, bad contacts ... think about it, the line voltage is switching off and on 60 times a second, if there is arcing, then the bulb iis being switched off and on, not with just voltage but 'bacK EMF' which causes high voltage on the filament. So the bulb burns out much faster. I put a thermistor (120 ohm to 6 ohm - 'positive coefficient' the hotter it got, the lower the series resistance ... used allot in old tv's, about the size of a penny, drop it into the socket, screw in the bulb, no more burn outs) on all my light switches so the bulbs turn on gradually, 1/2 second) ... haven't replaced a bulb in YEARS !!!
