Hi sunriz8
These are the most likely causes.

Not running the fan long enuf after using the shower, to completely remove the humid air. The warm humid air will condense on the cooler walls of the duct and run back down into the fan.
Its normally recommended to run the fan for about 10-15 minutes after using the shower, to completely evacuate the humid air.

Also, these are possibilities......and possible solutions

Uninsulated ducts running thru unheated attic.
(replace duct with insulated type, or wrap existing duct with insulation and foil tape)

Too long a duct run for the fan to move the air effectively.
(shorten/re-route duct)

Blocked duct or vent.
(check for obstructions)

Rain coming in thru vent or around vent and running down duct into fan housing.
(repair/replace vent)
