hampton Bay Cieling Fan w/Remote

I have a Hapton Bay Cieling fan with a romote control Model UC7078T. The remote conrols the fan speed, direction and the dimming of the lamps. It just suddenly died and fails to contol the fan at all. The remote appears to be sending a signal (red light emits), I am not certain of the exact fan model. Is there a way to test the system to determine if the reciever is dead, or the remote is defective?

You may have success if you change the dip switch settings on both the remote and the receiver on the fan to another matching setting like 0101 or 1101, etc. If that doesn't work, check the wiring to the receiver. Finally, the receiver may have gone south and needs replacement. Let us know how your investigation goes.

I have two of the same units--put in new battery-if that will not work, do as chandler said-you dip settings are 1-2-3-4
the white switches in front of battery-if they are all facing away from you-change them facing toward you-you will have
to take off the round piece of metal that is surrounded by the blades--dips are in there-change them to the same settings
Have fun...........
