bathroom fan won't turn OFF anymore

I've lived in this condo for 6 months, and rarely use the bathroom fan to clear my steam. Mysteriously it came on by itself and ran all nite until I discovered it.

It didn't respond to the on/off switch, so I changed the switch, and yet when I turned the breaker back on, the fan was still not responding to the on/off switch. For days I've had the breaker off except for when I need to use the bathroom lights.

Mysteriously after a few days of this, it suddenly decided to respond to the on/off switch. Now 12 hrs later, after a steamy shower, it turned itself on again, tho' the switch is off.

I've had steam in the bathroom several times a week, yet only now has it decided to take on a mind of it's own. What do I do? I don't want to keep turning the breaker off to turn off the fan!! How much electricity am I using if I just let the thing run 24/7?

Problem Solved

I guess with the change in weather, the humidity setting now is too high and triggers the fan coming on "mysteriously". I hadn't known what a humidity dial did before, and it was located outside the bathroom, so I didn't think it was related, but now I know! Problem solved. Thanks.
