Inground pool light

I have an inground pool and the light seems to have a mind of its own. I can turn it on and it will be fine for 30-40 minutes and then it will shut off for 5-10 minutes and then just turn back on for a few minutes and turn back off a few minutes later. I checked the switch and the connections at the junction box by the diving board. Nothing found. Joe

You probably need to change the thermal switch in the fixture itself, or reduce the size of bulb. Have you verified its size against what is recommended?

Angry thermal switch for inground pool light

is there a thermal switch in all pool lights? My light was working before and right after I had my pool replastered and a new concrete deck poured but then it stopped. I have replaced the bulb but when I turn on my pool light switch it trips the breaker and a ground fault receptacle in the same line.

Any ideas as to what has shorted?

Majorty of swimming pool luminaires do have thermal switch in there also a low water detection switch if the water level get too low it will shut off to prevent from overheating it.

What wattage and voltage you have them in the swimming pool luminiare??

Once we get the idea we can go from there.
