Hi everyone, first post. Ok so I am remodeling my family room and I want recessed lights in there I just don't know how many to get, and where to place them in my ceiling. The room is approx. ____________13'______________|2' | | | | | 15' | | | | |______________________________ On the 13' wall it has two large windows that are close to the left corner (windows are approx. 5' wide so most of that wall is open). On the 15' wall I have a smaller window in the same corner. I plan on placing my couch in front of the two large windows. In the middle of the 15' wall is a fireplace, and on the lower wall across the window wall is where my LCD TV sits. The little 2' wall is where my light switch will be. The ceiling is approx. 8' high. The kitchen is open to the family room on the right. My original idea was to get 7 lights total, 3 on the 13' window wall, spaced about 2' away from the wall and spaced about 4' apart from each other, 1 in front of the 15' wall centered on my fireplace and again spaced about 2' from the wall, and 3 more on the opposite side of the room with the same spacing guidline as the window wall. My concerns are will I have enough light to light up my room? And will the spacing create ugly glares on the windows and LCD TV? Light gurus please help, thanks.

I have a few fixtures that require a 3 way and a 2 way bulb The 3 way calls for a 100W bulb and the 2 way for a 40W bulb. The only 3 way I found is the 50-100-150 type. Can this be used due to the lower wattage used. Is it safe. And what about the 2 way bulb. I havent seen ANY 2 ways in CFL
