over stove light

Is there a light fixture that can be mounted 18" above a stove/range? I am trying to avoid shortening the OTR cabinet to accommodate an OTR microwave by putting microwave on a shelf and mounting a light to the underside of the shelf. My concern is of heat and steam.

OTR = over the range?

I don't know what code might be but 18 in between a range top and a light fixture or cabinet bottom seems too close.You put a large pot on a burner and you're 6 or 8 inches from the cab or fixture with it boiling etc....that's too little distance and too little clearance for your hands.The heat might damage a fixture or light bulb etc.If there's no burners there then you can out a light elsewhere but range top usually means burners.
