We have a new-ish house, built in the past 10 years. The guest bathroom has two sinks with a single light bar across the top. The light bar has a single electrical box that is more or less centered between the two sinks. My wife wants to get rid of this fixture and have two separate light fixtures over the sinks. The lights can be on the same switch. So.... I figure I need to install two new electrical boxes centered over the sinks and get the existing wiring over to them. My questions: 1. can I simply run two sets of wires from the existing wire box? If so, can I somehow recess the existing electrical box so I can sheetrock over it when I'm done? 2. how do you get the wires to the new locations (past the studs)? Do you knotch the studs or something? 3. the new light fixtures need to be centered over the existing sinks. I'm guessing there won't be a stud perfectly located to attach the new electrical boxes to. How would an electrician solve that problem? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Last year, my kitchen was remodelled. Under the cabinets and in them was installed a touch lighting system with about 6 lights involved. The other day, they (it) just stopped working. They have 3 settings but none work now. Won't come on at all. of course, I've tried to replace a bulb with a new one but nothing. I've replaced bulbs in the past (really little but hot bulbs) and it would work fine. Not the kind that requires replacement of all. In other words, in the past, if one went out the others would still work. Any ideas what I should do? can't tell who made it, the sensor is round and about 2 inches across and of course, can't find my contractor anymore.
