basement fluorescent lighting recommendations

hi all, i'm looking for some suggestions for basement lighting. i'd like to replace the existing incandescent pull-chain fixtures with lensed/wireguard linear fluorescents. i dont have a lot of head room, so i am looking to mount the fixtures in the joist cavities so that the lens is flush with the bottom of the joists (unfinished basement).
i was considering chain-hung 4' industrials with a wireguard suspended from the subfloor, or lensed fluorescents mounted on a box with joist-span bars. (i'm not too sure how sturdy the latter would be). is there a better way to do this?

thanks!

There is no need for a box. The wiring compartment in the fixture itself is used for the splices.

I would try to hang the fixture on jack chain secured to the joists.

i didnt see much in terms of hanger accessories at home depot

these seem to be the best low-cost option:

You really don't need much, just some chain and S hooks.

The housing may already have slotted holes that the S hooks could fit through. The other end of the chain could be screwed or nailed to the joist.
