problem with Hunter fan w/ light, remote control

Hi, I have a Hunter fan w/ light and remote control. I do not know the model #, and I checked the Hunter website, and they do not have this model listed. It has been working fine for yrs together, but from this morning, I am not able to turn off the fan with the remote control. Remote can turn on and off the light, can change the speed of fan, but cannot just turn it off. When I press the turn off button on remote, the LED does light up..

So, is it the receiver in the fan which may be a problem...? Can I just replace that and get a new remote rather than change the whole fan..??

Thanks in advance.

I have only installed one fan over the years that the remote is integrated into the fan itself. All the others have a receiver that you install in the canopy of the fan. You may have to take the fan down to change the receiver. You can get aftermarket replacements from the big box stores for about $40.

Try simple things first. Try fresh batteries in the transmitter.

Next, call Hunter's support line. Hunter provides excellent customer support.

But remotes do sometimes go bad. In my experience, it's more likely to be the transmitter than the receiver, but follow Hunter's advice.

I have a similar problem. All the fan (Hunter Fan) functions work with the remote, the light can be raised and lowered in brightness, but the light cannot be turned off.

Are you using a short tap on the remote to turn off the lights? Is this new fan or have you had it for a while?
