Wiring for wall switch for ceiling fan w/ light
Hi,
I have a ceiling fan w/ light and operated only by remote control. The fan is reversible, with the control on the remote only. (no toggle switch on the fan). Now, the receiver of the fan is shot, and Hunter people do not carry that anymore.
So, i was thinking of putting a wall switch for the light and the fan. Now, there are 4 wires from the fan/light assembly (which went into the remote receiver).
Any ideas how to wire these wires...? Can I give a toggle switch on the wall for reversing the fan?
Thanks.

If you have a model it might be something we can look up for a wiring diagram. My guess would be, forward, reverse, light, and a neutral. Are the wires colored? If we can figure out the wiring, you should be able to hard wire it for all functions.

Model info
sorry, I should have posted that info.
It is Hunter fan, model 25884. I had contacted Hunter cust service, and they have discontinued this model; also they do not carry its remote receiver any more.
Thanks.
