ceiling fan needs a push

I have a brand new ceiling fan that seemed to work well for 2 months but now it needs a push to get started. Any easy fixes or should I try to return it to the store.

Replace the capacitor. Drop the light kit or blank cover. You should see a small square box that is not a switch. It may be marked with a number ending in f. Take it to the big box store and get a new one same rating. May not be the cause but it is something to check.

Ceiling fans should be started on high speed and then you can slow it down once it is spinning at speed. Kind of like starting a maunual shift car from a stop. You don't try to start out in 3rd.
