Help! Replacing Outdated Fluorescent Light

We just removed an outdated kitchen light more suited for the garage---fluorescent rectangle. The problem now is that the hole where the wires are coming out is not centered in the kitchen workspace. We have a flush mount light ready to install that will be oddly placed if we put it where the existing wires come out.

HELP!

If you have an attic above you can flip the existing box up into the attic and run cable to a new better placed box. If the wires run from the direction of where you want the new box you may be able to just remove the existing box.

You could also just run a cable to the new location from this box. Blank off the existing box with a blank cover.

Will the wires reach the new location?

You can always patch the ceiling.
