Dimmer for floor lamp not working
My girlfriend has a very expensive floor lamp (torchiere lamp) that she got as a gift from a friend. The friend told her in advance that the light was not working.
The light is turned on via a Kaoyi dimmer (Model# KFD-515U). I checked inside the dimmer and saw that the 5 amp fuse looked blown. I replaced it and I now have light from the lamp. The problem is that it will not dim. It stays at the same lighting level.
I'm definitely not an electrical expert. Could someone give me an idea what the problem could be before I have someone look at it and possibly charge me an arm and a leg to repair it. If not an arm, at least a leg.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
