Ceiling fixture near gas line

I'm trying to find a lighting solution for my basement hallway.

I have a 1" gas pipe running the length of the hall, dead center.
The hall is not that wide, so I want to avoid wall lights. I planned on possible using 3 puck lights staggering the gas pipe on each side. Most likely using xenon lights, as I hear they give off less heat than halogen.

My question is there a required/recommended set back between the fixture and the pipe, based on the heat given out by the light? Based on a my setup it would only be a few inches from the gas line...

The code is silent. Use IC rated lights just to be extra safe.
