New ceiling fan will not work

My husband installed the ceiling fan, and checked all the wires. All are hooked up correct, but fan will not work. He has installed five other ones and they all work. This new one has a remote; others did not. We do not know why it will not turn on. He even placed the fan on floor and hooked it up direct . Nothing. Thanks Susan

Is there a battery in the remote? Did you set the same codes on the receiver and remote? Are you sure you have power to the ceiling box? Is a wall switch turned off?

Yes to battery,Yes to receiver , yes to ceiling box 110 volts and checked got shocked. Not using a wall switch. All other fans he put up no problem. We do not know if this fan has a on and off switch no chain on this one. We plugged it in directly to wall and nothing. I guess I will have to call their toll number tomorrow morning. It is a 68 " fan.

Sounds to me like you may have a bad fan.

BTW - did you connect the plug in the bottom of the fan where the light kit goes to?

We took it back to store and the electrician mounted the bottom piece (no light on this fan) I think he called it the capacitor or something like that. When he connected it
IT WORKED! Even though my husband had installed 5 other fans, he didn't even think he had to completely put the whole fan together before he could check if it worked. He got a little pissy about it when we got home. He always wants us to think knows what he is doing.
