Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Dip Switch Issue
I installed a HB Ceiling fan with light fixture a couple years ago and all was good (after struggling to get that receiver in the narrow housing. This spring when I went to turn it on, nothing. The light was lit, but I couldn't raise or lower it and the fan wouldn't work at all.
I figured the path of least resistance would be to try to change the dip switches to another setting before getting too involved with troubleshooting. Bam, problem solved.
My question is, WHY. They were both set the same and worked fine, then stopped. Anyone have any ideas and is this something that happens a lot with HB fans? I've always had ceiling fans since my first home but this is the first HB fans and only the second set that used remotes. I'm getting to old to be climbing ladders every couple years to deal with something that worked fine with pull chains.
Now I'm sounding like a grumpy old man <smile>, but I am curious if these are temperamental.
Thanks for any help anyone might have.
