Thumbs down Utilitech 120v 6-light Xenon 3-Level Touch Dimmer

Fuse has burned out repeatedly in different dimmers. Other than buying another kit, is there a source for the dimmer module?

I have the same problem. I was hoping to find a source for the fuses, but the fuse broke to pieces getting it out and I can't identify it.

Can you access the fuse and is it replaceable? Fuses will have a rating on the barrel (the metal ring on the ends) someplace although it may be quite hard to see.

If you are blowing fuses you are overloading the dimmer.

Temporary Solution

I have replaced the fuse with a 3A 250v fuse which has a larger diameter end cap than the one which failed.

Some fuses are installed in a clip soldered to the circuit board. Most seem to have a very tight metal cap at each end which is soldered to the board.

I was able to solder a replacement fuse to the circuit board directly, and it works.

There are only five puck lignts on this dimmer.

I see other brands of dimmers available, as I was stumped by my Utilitech dimmer not working.

Thanks for this thread. Had no idea that the dimmer module on my 6 light Utilitech unit had a circuit board and FUSE. Getting the 3 amp fuse out was a bit tricky, but, replacement will be easy as soon as I get out and purchase one.

Cheers from May-hee-ko!
