We just moved into a home that had multiple cans installed. Half of them have eyeballs. We want to replace the eyeballs with stationary baffles. The little arm that holds the socket that nuts into the side of the can is no longer there. Apparently, that gets removed upon installation of eyeball lights.
All I need is about six of these arms to place back into the cans. HD/L do not sell just the arms. We already have to purchase all new clean white baffles. I don't really want to spend more money on new cans just so that I can rip the little arms out.
Any ideas where I can buy just the arms or should I just hunker down and purchase the new cans from HD for the arms?
BTW - I'm not sure it matters but the cans are Capri but not sure if the cans care where these arms come from.
Thanks!
1920's era house.
I had a ceiling light fixture operated by 2 switches. I needed to remove 1 switch and replace the light fixture. So I cleared everything out of the box except for the BX cable feeding power to the box.
What I have in the box now are 3 wires. A white, a black and a red that was previously unused.
I have 2 questions.
First - which wires to I attach to the new fixture (it has white, black and ground(green)
Second, which wires do I attach the old switch to?
