ceiling fan light bulbs - woes
When I try to change the light bulbs in my ceiling fans (2 identical ones) the new bulbs won't work. It's not the bulbs; I've checked them. A brand new bulb may work in one socket, but not the next socketon the same fixture. I've tried several sizes and wattages of bulbs, even the new energy-saving ones. Most recently I put a brand new bulb in a socket that I've always had trouble with, and it works fine. VERY frustrating - any advice?? Both fans have only two lights that work and they're not always the same lights.

Make sure the tab on the inside of the socket is not smashed down. If needed you can bend it up to make good contact with the bulb base. Also make sure the socket contacts are not corroded.

Does your fan/light have a sequential light pull chain? Pull once, two come on, pull again, other two, pull again all 4 lights come on, pull again all go off.
