Is mixing different brands recessed light housings and trims possible?

Are different brand/model housings and trims interchangeable to some degree?

I am asking because I am installing Halo H7T housings all over and have not purchased any trims yet. Today I saw an ad that someone was going to remodel a restaurant and the project went south (restaurant did not open), and he got stuck with 150 trims that he paid $12 each for.

Those are Juno 34WL 6" white baffle trims. He is selling those for $6 a box of 12, which amounts to 50 cents a piece.

I thought it may be worth it to try to see if Juno 34WL trim might work on Halo H7T housing. Will it work?

Another related question. What about those generic trims that claims to work with "most 6" trim - Halo, Juno etc..." anyone has experience with those? Are those viable options or ill fitting at best?

Thanks for any comments.

The trims need to be listed for use with the housing. I always used the Progess brand so I can't answer about the Juno fitting into the Halo housing.

With those kind of prices you might still be saving money and buy the Juno housings.
