Maximum wattage output for a 120 VAC 60 Hz 46 amp light fixture?
Hey, I'm trying to use high watt CFL's so that the plants in my tank get sufficient lighting. I know there are high watt CFL's that I can buy, I just don't want to ignorantly install them. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums! Unless you are using the proper spectrum of light, normal CFL's won't provide nutritive light for plants. Buy the CFL's with the marked wattage, say 60 watts. The package will indicate the actual wattage, but the output will be much more.

Unless there is a limitation printed on the lamp that says otherwise. 60 amps is a pretty much standard size for light fixtures. If you go with CFL, you will get 60 watts of light out of much less wattage bulb.
