to high of wattage

can to much wattage make a person sick. Our kitchen remodel has been the job form hell
we put in a new light fixture and it called for 3 100 wtt bulbs. I was sitting in there and got really hot and sick to my stomach . so 300 wttage in a kitchen is to much right . thanks

Just for info: wattage is just how much power the bulbs use it is not necessarily the lamp output. That would be lumens.

I have never heard of too much light making a person sick unless it is a flickering or blinding light (well over 300 watts). I have the equivalent of 390 watts (I have CFL's) over our island and 300 (5 - 60 watt equivalent) over our table and it has never been a problem. That said however, everybody is different so I would experiment with some other bulbs to see if you see a change.
