How To Hook Up Wiring For Three Speeds On Three Speed Motor
I had a digitally operated three speed air cleaner by Hunter. Static electricity zapped the computer in the top of the unit.
The unit has a three speed motor (Low - Medium - High) that still works. There are six wires going into the motor. The colors of the wires are green, red, yellow, and black. A gray and white wire are connected to a capacitor and these two wires also go into the motor. Using a three position two pole switch, how can I hook up the motor to run on medium and high. I have gotten the switch hooked up but the only speeds I have at the moment are medium and medium.
Can someone give me guidance on how I can find the high speed wires so I can put those wires over on the other side of the switch.
Thank you in advance for your reply.

Welcome to our forums!
First off, are there no markings on the motor that state the connections or on the cct board terminals.
Often the terminals will be marked or a schematic will say what connects to each terminal.
Barring that, black is often common and the other three could be the multiple speeds.

I believe it would be blk-hi, yl-med, rd-lo. Only one winding connected per speed.
Using the 3 pos toggle, your hot need to go to common then the other two poles to your medium and high windings, (yellow and black).
Doing a little guessing hear but i think thats close..
