Trick for hanging pendants at exact same height?

I'm hanging 3 pendant lights and of course I will measure but chances are they will still be slightly off. Is there a trick for getting them at the exact same height?

Thanks

Unless they are quite a bit off (more then 1/4") they will look the same height. No need to be 100% exact.
Otherwise a real handy tool is to use a laser line. If you don'e access to one, then extend a steel tape measure and lock it in place. Set it to the height and set it on it back so the tape is standing up. Use that for your guide.

Does the pendant only hang from the cord? Most ones I have installed either have a chain, cable or rod.

I have hung some that had a compression grommet that you could loosen and extend or shorten to get the correct height and than tighten the gland.

but that's only if the fixture comes it with it or you just added a grommet?

Also check the distance from floor to ceiling at each pendant. Yes, in a perfect world they would be the same but often they aren't. You may have to put them where they look right. In this case that would probably mean measuring from the ceiling but sometimes you have to use a fudge factor to get it to look right to a casual glance.

The glands came on the fixture.
