Dusk to dawn standard area light

Installed a dusk to dawn standard area light on a pole in our yard. Why does
the light bulb keep burning out?

How long do they last? Have you double checked all the connections? What else is on the same breaker?

The first bulb lasted about a month. Replaced it twice and could never get the bulbs to come back on. There is one
wall plug on the same breaker.

All I can suggest is check all the connections on the circuit and buy a different brand of bulb.

There are some fluorescent light compatible sensors and there are others which are for incandescent lights only.

If you cannot find any info on your fixture, try an incandescent bulb and see how long it lasts.

I went through the same problem. The light quit 2 days after install. I took it down and returned it for a new one. That one lasted 4 days. When I took that one back the manager came by as I was leaving with the new light and said they had a recall on the bulbs in that light. He had me remove the bulb from the package and gave me a bulb from a new shipment of replacement bulbs. The light has been working almost a year now with no problems.
Maybe the place you get your bulbs has not been told of the recall or just doesn't care!
As mentioned before I would buy a new bulb at a different place. I am not sure you can even buy more than 1 brand (name) of these bulbs.
