do they make this type of bulb?
Hello everyone,
I had an idea for my porch lights and have looked on the internet for this type bulb but so far no luck..... Does anyone know if there is a type of bulb made that flickers like flame then has the ability to be turned on like a regular bulb? I don't even know how that would work but surely I'm not the only one that would like that look and function. Any ideas?
I was thinking it could flicker at night then with the flip of a switch or with motion it could turn to a brighter light to light up the porch.

Yes and no...In my perfect world the flicker bulbs would be like a 'stand by mode' then when you flipped a switch they would provide enough light to light up a porch.
They would be a flicker light until an actual porch light was needed.

It could be done with a two bulb sockets. Use 3 conductor cable between switch and light and a duplex switch. An actual bulb that did that would require a special purpose socket and be more complex to manufacture. I can't see enough profit to make it worthwhile for a manufacturer to make one.
