What should I do with an extra switch in a 3 gang box?

I recently removed a ceiling fan from my kitchen, I didn't like the idea of all the dust coming off the blades onto my food. I replaced it with a nice light fixture. The fan and light were controlled by two different wall switches in a 3 switch box, I capped and taped the wire for the fan that was in the ceiling and now that switch is unused. Is there anything that I can put in place of the switch? I bought a wall mount LED nightlight that you replace a receptacle with, then I realized that I was trying to replace a switch and I don't think it'll work there.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm replacing the other switches in my house with decorative switches but I haven't done anything with this one yet because I'd hate to buy and install a switch that doesn't work.

Thanks,

T

Use a switch plate that has one blank space. You can find ones at the BigBox that you make up from individual parts for each gang or you may be able to order a ready made one.

You can also buy filler jewels at an electrical supply house that will fill in the cutout for the switch.

You may be able to use your nightlight...it all depends on what wires are in the box. Does it just require 2 wires?
