Backporch Light Out

Hello,

I am new to this community and open for good advice. I really will like to try this myself before I pay someone else to do it. My backporch light is out. I have tried a new light bulb but it is not working still. This is the first time that this has happened. Could someone guide me in the right direction to determine how to resolve this issue. (I no longer have a home warranty)

With the breaker off use a pair of needle nose pliers to gently lift the tab at the bottom of the lamp holder up. If that doesn't do it it is time for a GFCI hunt. It may not be on a GFCI but it is the next thing to look for. Start with outside receptacles and move to the garage and basement and kitchen and bathroom. If your sure it is not hidden behind any boxes or furniture and not an odd place like under the eves or a crawl space or the attic then it will be time to move on to the next set of tests.
