Question Bath Light

I have a friend who wanted me to look at his shower light, bcause it quit workin. It is a recessed ficture. I went to remove the bulb and the face cover would not come off. It appears that the plastic cover is rivited on to the metal cone has anyone ever seen something like this or did I just miss something? This is not a fancy light just a Del Webb home or now Pulty.

The cover has to be removable for lamp replacement. If you cant get it to move after checking all around the edge with something like a putty knife, maybe posting a picture would help: How To Include Pictures

Bath Light

OK, Just like I first wrote this light is not some futuristic light, this is a basic light. I pull down and the ficture comes out of the celing. The problem is the cover over the buld appears to be rivited on to the cone that goes into the celing. Question! has anyone ever heard of a light that needs to be thrown away because the bulb cannot be changed? I would be happy to take a picture, but it would not show you anything that I have not explained.

What make and model is the light? Is there any information about servicing it on the fixture? Or a sticker? If it connected by a cord and plug to an accessible receptacle then it isn't meant to be replaced.

Bath Light

Not to be critical but did you read the post? It is in the shower. Now you know this has to be hard wired. Once again it is a recessed light in the celing. Hard wired! If their were instructions on how to get it apart we would not be having this discussion.

Turn the diffuser within the cone. Normally they will come right out exposing the bulb. You want to give us the brand name, now that you have criticized us for trying to help you??
