replacing chandelier with ceiling fan and light kit

We are going to replace a chandelier with a ceiling fan and light kit. The chandelier is controlled by two different switches as you enter the room from 2 entrances. Is it possible to have the light work from the current switches and the fan work from a pull chain? Or how is it best to do this? We need to be able to turn the light on from both entrances and would prefer that the fan not come on at the same time. Any help is appreciated!

Probably but not with out running more cables unless power comes in at the light.

How many 2-conductor (+ground) and how many 3-conductor( +ground) cables are in the ceiling box? How are they connected? Do you have a multimeter or test light.

Once you have the chandelier down, snap a picture of the box. It needs to be a fan rated box. We may be able to discern whether or not it is from your pix. Pictures of the wiring is gonna help, too. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html
