Special light bulb for outdoor porch light that repels bugs
I have timer light that comes on at a certain time at night on my porch. The only problem is that in the summer it attracts 100s of bugs. I am sure many people deal with this annoyance. Are there any special light bulbs that I could by that repel bugs? Is there any such thing? I want to still have white light however. All comments are appreciated. Thanks

Yellow, or amber, is the tried-and-true solution. I literally have amber globes in my camping lanterns!
Having said that, what attracts the bugs is radiation in the UV portion of the spectrum, so look for lamps that are low in UV emissions. As chandler suggested, LEDs are known to have a lower rate of UV emission than most other lamps. And, apparently, there's some variation among manufacturers on that.
So look around.
