basement exhaust fan

Hello,

I am looking for a way to put an exhaust fan in one of my basement windows (roughly 31'x12.5"). I seem to remember seeing fans like this years ago that had adjustable flaps that you can close so that rain doesn't come in your windows. Pretty much just looked like crude low profile window fans with flaps. Now that I actually need such a thing, I cant find one anywhere. Did I just imagine that such things exist? What are some other options for me?

Thanks!

That sure is a big window! Long, anyway. If you meant 31", I can see it. Does the window open? I don't see how a fan would work in a window that small.

Welcome to the forums!

If a window fan like this Lasko Twin Window Fan is what you're remembering, keeping rain out without removing the fan and closing the window might be difficult.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Welcome to the furums, Alou1

the fan you linked to is made to fit in a foundation vent opening. The OP was looking for a fan to fit in a light-well window. In addition, that member hasn't been back since this thread went quiet.
