Bath exhaust fan
Is exhausting a fan through the soffit an acceptable way or is it best to go through roof

Best practice is through the roof. Dampness and warmth under the soffit could lead to mold and rot.

The moisture that the bathroom fan exhausts can be pulled straight into the attic through the intake vents for attic ventilation of the exhaust port is mounted in the soffit.
