Wrong Bulb Now Doesn't Work

Separated from: http://www.doityourself.com/forum/li...ture-help.html

I have a similar problem -- wasn't paying attention and tried to insert a smaller bulb into our chandelier fixture. Immediately, I heard an 'POP' and the entire light went out. Tried to replace the light bulbs and nothing!

I've reset the breaker but this didn't do anything. Just checked the wires with the power meter and there is no power detected.

Any ideas what happened and how we might go about fixing it?

Where did you check for power ?

A normal course of action would be to remove the light fixture and check the wiring where it connects to the light. Check from black to white (hot to neutral) and then check from black to the box (ground.

If you still measure nothing then you'll need to remove the wall switch and check for power there.
