Ceiling Fan w/light connections

I am trying to install a cieling fan with 3 light bulbs. The problem is this: from the ceiling three set of wires are coming out: 2 black wires wrapped into one, one red wire and one white wire.

My fan has: One red wire, One white wire and one blue wire. Green wire is obviously for the ground. Can anyone input as to how this connection goes so that I can have both fan and lights going.

Do not want to take a chance. Thanks all!

If you have a two conductor cable (black and white) and a three conductor cable (white, black, red) There should be two whites connected to each other. If that is true connect the fan black and fan blue to red and fan white to white bundle.

Just checked again:

There are two white wires from the ceiling joined into one.
There are two black wires from the ceiling joined into one.
There is one red wire from the ceiling.

HENCE as advised

"If that is true connect the fan black and fan blue to red and fan white to white bundle."

I will join the fan's white to white and black and blue to red. Leave the black wires from the ceiling alone i.e. tape it for insulation.

Hope this works, will do the connections tomorrow and let know. Thanks alot!

You do not use tape to insulate a splice. You use wire nuts.

The two blacks are constant hot power. The red is probably switched power.

If the red wire is switched power you will need to install a 2-wire fan control in the switch box to avoid damaging the fan motor. Or you can wire white-to-white, black-to-black and blue-to-red. That will give you switch control for the light and constant hot for the fan. You will be able to control it with the pull chain.

Do you have a multimeter? What is the wiring at the switch?
