GFCI not resetting itself

In my 220 v wired home, a gfci bathroom outlet tripped and would not reset. 5 other outlets in my 2 story ranch went dead along with several wired features, room fan, bathroom lights.
I have checked my breakers and all seem ok.
I installed a new gfci and all was ok, but shortly after installation, my wife used her hairdryer and it went out again. I installed a new gfci outlet, but this time it will not reset?
Any thoughts on how I can track down where the problem is?
Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forums. Are you certain there is power available at the black wire in the GFCI? If you have a multimeter check to see what the voltage is. Generally the reason a GFCI won't reset is 1) bad GFCI 2) No power to the receptacle, or 3) something is plugged in that is giving a constant ground fault. This receptacle should be the only thing on that circuit. Can you confirm that?

In my 220 v wired home,
Bairdj, where are you? Homes in the US, including those in Pennsylvania, are supplied with 120/240V single-phase service. 220V is not available.
