We are remodeling a home and are going to be putting recessed lighting throughout. We want to put 5" Halo housings in with led bulbs. Can we use the incandescent housings with led bulbs. Also, could we use BR30 LEDs and buy the trim separate or do we have to use the ones with the trims attached? Here are links to the housings and bulbs we are considering:

Purchase separate bulb and trim or the complete assembly.......you can do either.
What you've chosen will work fine.
One thing.... make sure you find a trim that you like and works with the bulb you've picked out.

I just used the led trim combo in 6" halo cans. They look really good but the trim isn't perfectly flush to the wall. I think it would be a little tighter if I used the seperate trim it would be totally flush. But my bulbs and trim combo is 27$ and they come in soft and day light. The trim alone is like 15$ so.. Overal there great andd the light color is awesome!!
