changing a t12 ballast to t8
here's what i have for a ballast "icn-4p32-sc" i want to use these in 2 bulb fixtures in my garage. i know these are for 4 bulb or 3 bulb applications. could i just use the reds or the blue wires along with t8 bulbs to get them to work? i know it will probibly shorten the life of one or both the ballast and bulbs.

Welcome to the forums!
AFAIK, no. Ballasts have to be matched to the number of tubes they're supplying.
Others may know more.

You can use less tubes then it's designed for but it will burn the tubes up faster.
I did a whole office with four tube ballasts in four tube fixtures. The employees were screaming at the amount of light so now they only have three tubes in them. I haven't any ballast issues but the lamps do get blacker quicker.

Thanks, worked like a champ. I used 2-reds and 1-yellow on 1 bulb, and 2-blues with the other yellow on the other bulb. the lights seem brighter than normal thou i'm sure thay won't last as long.
