Lights not working

So this light fixture has given us trouble before.

The bathroom vent turns on, but the light will not. We opened up the plate and checked for any loose wires, and the lights will still not turn on.

What can I do / what is my next step?

Check the connections at the light/vent.

Assuming this is an incandescent bulb and you're tested it to make sure it works, you might want to look closely at the center contact inside the socket. When bulbs are not installed tightly enough, this contact can corrode, due to slight arcing and burning of the contact surface.

Make sure the power is off, look closely at the center contact. If it's not shiny, then get a little piece of sandpaper and burnish off the corrosion.
