Adhesive or Glue Recommendation needed for Light Wiring

We have track lights in our living room and the wires are on the ceiling enclosed in a plastic looking frame.

The frame holds the wires in place on the ceiling and is only an inch wide.

But we noticed that the glue that holds the plastic is drying up and part of the plastic frame holder is hanging. Maybe with it being cold out and we putting the heater on, it's gotten worse.

Can someone recommend me what a good glue or adhesive would be to use to glue this back onto the ceiling? I guess I need something that sticks the ceiling wall (looks like stucco) to the plastic.

Got a picture?
Not a great plan so far counting on glue to hold this light up.

You can try rubber cement or a household adhesive, but it's going to be difficult to keep it from pulling the surface off the ceiling. I would replace the plastic raceway with a metal one, probably a Wiremold product, that is attached with metal clips, anchors and screws.

The plastic raceway with adhesive was not a good choice for this installation, IMO.

The textured surface is preventing good contact with the adhesive. The wall or ceiling needs to be smoother for the adhesive to work.

Nash is right.
But you don't need to replace the raceway. For a few bucks you can pick up EZ Anchors and just punch the screws through the plastic raceway. Or toggle bolts would be even better.

Thanks everyone. Yes, it was the previous owners work which I also thought was really weird why he used glue.

I do see in other rooms they used some type of clip and small screws to keep it in place on the ceiling. I'll go to the hardware store and look for the EZ Anchors.
