question on Metal Halide exterior Lamp fixture

I just installed a Lithonia outdoor dusk to dawn fixture with a metal halide bulb (Premium Metal Halide Wall Pak -). The unit works fine but with the metal halide bulb it seems to buzz/hum a bit and also really heats up, plus the white attracts bugs. Could I replace this bulb with a regular fluorescent bug bulb? Not sure if this will cause problems or not, but they both seem to be the same threads? thanks!

Metal halide is a totally different technology than fluorescent. You will have to change the fixture if you want to go to fluorescent.
