Can I wire a pull chain light to turn on/off when I turn on/off another?

I am trying to link a pull chain light to another pull chain light in such a way so that one will turn on and off when I turn the other on and off. I am trying to avoid having to turn both on manually.

Is this possible?

Welcome to the forums.

As far as I know..... no. Each pull chain device is a complete stand-alone device.

Get rid of the pull chains and install three way wall switches.

Nothing in the O/P's post indicates he want to control it from two locations so a SPST may be all he needs. A switch loop to the upstream light and replacing with keyless fixtures may be adequate if there is no downstream device that requires constant power.

Sure. We used to do it all the time back in college.

Use light but tough twine and some screw eyes to run from each point where you want to control the lights to a point about a foot away from each fixture. Join the two strings at each fixture to one piece, run it through a couple of screw eyes and tie it to the chain.

At the control points, combine the two strings at each to one which hangs down to about 4' off the floor. Use 2 or 3 screw eyes to keep it in place. Tie a small weight on the end of each string - s church key works well for this, plus, it keeps the openers handy.

Or you can
