dip switches

Per this sticky...

http://www.doityourself.com/forum/li...-switches.html

I have taken my receiver apart 3 times and inspected it with a magnifying glass and and a flashlight, there are no dip switches to be found inside this particular receiver. I believe the model # is a 2905. It has a fan/light with the dimmer switch. Somewhere along the line our remote walked off. I ordered a replacement. Following the instructions I ran into my problem, no way to sync my switches. Where the switches should be is some computer chip it looks like. I am able to kill power to the unit and turn on my light, that's about it. I plan on running through the combinations to see if I can find the code with a lucky shut off. Or, would I have to kill power in order to test every code? This is a miserable exercise.............Ans is there a procerdure for mating these electronic receivers? Help! Pretty please

And .........MERRY CHRISTMAS

Can you give some better info as to the make and possibly model of your fan.
A 2905 remote appears to be for various TV's and they would not have DIP switches.

I have the same remote. There are no dip switches on the receiver. Did you get the right handheld transmitter to work with it ?
