Ceiling fan light kit

new here...I'm trying to wire a ceiling fan light kit in my living room. The house I bought came with ceiling fans in all of the rooms but none of them had light kits on them. I was able to wire 3 of the 4 rooms and they all work. The 4th one in the living room doesn't seem to have power going to the blue wire that says for light kit. This ceiling fan does not have a wall switch for it. It seems to always have power and I just pull the cord on it if I want it to work. My question is if the blue wire doesn't have power going to it can i just run my black from the light kit to the black(hot) inside the ceiling fan and not even use the blue in the fan box and then just control the light kit from the cord on that.

Here is a pic of what im working with.

Thanks for any input you have

Welcome to the forums.

Yes.... you can wire your light to the incoming black and white power wires. Many times the blue wire is not connected at the ceiling if there wasn't a light kit originally.

Your light will now be activated by it's pull chain. If there is a wall switch that turns off the fan..... then the light and fan will both turn off.
